I became a teacher to inspire! I couldn’t help to think how many lives I have impacted these past five years. It is quite humbly to think about, and that years from now those numbers are only going to increase exponentially. Many will come up to me and thank me or at least acknowledge me somehow like they have been, and unfortunately I will not hear from many others. Also, some will not even remember the seeds that have been planted for them since junior high for their development as an individual and that’s okay. I don’t do what I do for any credit because the satisfaction that I get personally for a job well done is enough for my confidence to continue to impact kids year after year. I also do it because it’s fun! I am so blessed to have a job that I am excited for and eager to attend every morning. Not only do I get instant fulfillment, but I know that although I may not receive a teacher of the year award or any other kind of hardware as recognition that my actual treasure is awaiting in heaven. We, teachers, are part of an equation to help kids, and we make a difference. Years from now kids may not remember what teachers taught them, whether it was how to conjugate verbs or how to work out a certain math problem, but they are going to remember how teachers made them feel.
The following is the best teacher made song that I could find on YouTube: Enjoy!
