How to Win: Dreams Come True
First all I just want to comment that justice was served. No more tension. The atmosphere is bearable. The love and respect is there.
I’ve never been more excited than I am now for a new season/school year. I get this feeling pretty much every year. I just had one of the best summers, I know I say it every year, but this was the best summer. I tried to explain in my previous blogs what kind of work is put in during the break. The kind of work that leads to winning takes place in the off season/summer break. I’m in a position where I can be successful. Everything has been put in place and the work has been done. It’s time hit the road and continue the journey that started 2 years ago. 1,000 miles was the total distance.
Before
I lot preparation…Training physically, mentally, spiritually…With hard work comes rest which is essential for your body to develop, to get your mind right, to feed your soul. It’s the calm before the storm. Embracing the peace and silence adds fuel for later. The drawing board is where championships are won. Not having a plan is planning to fail. I hope you pushed yourself to exhaustion this summer and at the same time got plenty of rest.
During
The storm, war, battle, fight, competition, or the stage means the season has arrived. The spotlight, the millions of people watching, the jeers and the cheers is what you have prepared for. The grind and the failure begin to mold a winner. Battle tested is needed for the grand finale. Strive to persevere because only the strong survive out there in the jungle. This is the part that everyone remembers at the end, even though it’s the part that everyone dreads. Winners look forward to the battlefield.
After
Rejoice! The celebration, parade, ceremony, gathering, and the fiesta it’s what we look forward to. The impossible becoming possible is the greatest feeling in the world. The true beauty of it all is that anybody can be a winner, but it takes a special person and group (future blog) to become a champion.
Fully loaded, the tank is full, tons of ammunition. No bullet will be left in the chamber. No stone will be left unturned. I will excide every ounce of energy and power that it is within me. Winning comes from within. When I step out on the floor, I feel like I’m better than my opponent. I’ve put in more work, I deserve it more, I have what it takes, I’m more skilled, etc. They stand no chance.
Dream big! I can’t stop dreaming. With God nothing is impossible, therefore I’m not going to stop, I’m not going to wake up, and I’m going to keep dreaming because that is what every child in this world is doing. We are that child wishing on a falling star, saying that prayer, and scrubbing those dirty floors. It’s a Cinderella Story. Dreams come true! Dreams never end! That is my testimony. I’m going to enjoy the ride. Every day/game will have a unique approach, as if it was my last. I probably talk a big game, I’m probably full of it, maybe I’m a B.S’er, but I’ll leave it up to you to be the judge.

Pre-Season ;)
So many changes this school year, yet some things never change ;)
Development
Getaway

Rest

Conditioning

Training
It's all a process, this will be my 7th year, definately not my first rodeo. Gotta love the Pre-Season where you're tested early.
Men’s Health Magazine provides: Your guide to finding good people:
Step 1. Identify what you value in people.
Step 2. Identify where this type of person spends time.
Step 3. Go there, whether it is a church, gym, beach, dance lessons, boot camp, fitness class, Chamber of Commerce meeting, local lectures, weekend seminars or weekly group meetings. You don’t meet good people by watching TV…but good people ARE out there. Go forth and find them.

Maybe one day they will get it, and show me a well-earned respect, praise, and love, but if they do, then my life will be normal, it will not have a purpose, I will not have that hunger or that edge over anyone, so in that case I hope they never get it. I want to have that chip on my shoulder to always fight for what's right because they will continue to talk and put down. At least, some people will glance and see it, see that fire in my eye, some people will not look down at me as an inferior or superior person but someone who has great value. It is those who see and believe that will benefit and embrace greatness, and those who don't will eventually look up at me pleading and extending their hand in a last minute attempt in order to avoid falling. Those are at risk individuals and that were not blessed to see greatness, beauty, or truth, but there's always hope. Blessed are those who appreciate and see what is good without needing multiple proofs. The more proofs, the stronger I become, so they are only doing me a favor. Of course I have to love them. I treat them all the same, which includes those who hate and those who appreciate by giving them the same greeting and smile, but deep down I know where everyone stands.Everyday I have to prove myself to the world over and over again.

Forgive, forget and find people for your own good. We all must stick to a circle of influence and not allow others to destroy it, use them as motivation to make the circle stronger. Good always prevails, I have witnessed it for 28 years. All glory to God.
